April 9, 2017 Pastor: Ryan Rice Series: Love and Marriage

Topic: Love Scripture: Song of Solomon 8:4–8:14

This passage looks back at the past of Solomon’s bride. Her commitment to purity and the protection of her brothers. It also celebrates Solomon’s love her inner beauty. “Many claim to have unfailing love but a faithful person who can find.” Proverbs 20:6. If we desire to have unfailing love we must first have a relationship with God and then with other people. Even when we are unfaithful, God will remain faithful. God wants to renew you to be full of faith and to restore you for His glory and for your good.
Faithfulness always acknowledges God. In all your ways acknowledge him and He will make straight your paths. Slow down and acknowledge God. He is faithful, all powerful and all merciful. God uses different people in His plan to speak wisdom. Protect yourself, but be open to others that God brings to help you. Faithfulness always accepts help from others. Listen to Godly advice. Take it seriously. When you are humble, God will lift you up. Faithfulness requires saying no. The more you can say no the clearer the vision God will be for your life.

Faithfulness always results in peace. When you decide to live a life of faithfulness. He will help you on the path to faithfulness. Evidence of faith is the fruit of the spirit. Spend time with God. Walk with Him and trust in Him. In difficult times, you will receive peace that passes all understanding. It will take you above your pain. How does God place people in your life to help you out?

Faithfulness increases attractiveness. A gentle and quiet spirit has a beauty that will not fade. If you are abrasive and loud you can’t hear God. It is when we are quiet that we can see that God at work. His voice comes from wise council. External appearances do not last, and it is more important to cultivate inner beauty that comes from God.

Faithfulness is a journey. Your call is to be faithful in the journey. Life has many mountain top experiences, but much of it is also in the valleys of life. If you fall He will help you up. If you fall into despair. God will send someone with wise council along to help. It is in the valleys of life that the fruit of the Spirit grows. “Trust in the Lord with all you heart and lean not to your own understanding. He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6. Even when we are unfaithful He will remain faithful. He will not change.
